Phenom’s High School Jamboree Recaps
2021 Standouts
6’10” Ben Wiznitzer
Christ School (Arden, NC)
Wiznitzer has a large build to go along with soft hands and touch that extends from around the basket to beyond the 3-point arc. His coordination is very impressive to be a player so young and as he continues to get his conditioning right his production will continue to grow.
6’ Cole Sinclair
Durham Academy (Durham, NC)
Sinclair plays with a poise to goes well beyond his years. He is a team first point guard, but is very competitive on the floor. He plays with good vision and a great pace, getting him where he wants to go on the floor. He played a major role for the team in the 8th grade and looks to have eased into the starting line up for Durham Academy this year.
6’3” Carson McCorkle
Greensboro Day (Greensboro, NC)
McCorkle is a well-known player already. He was a Top 50 prospect in the 2020 class already carrying offers from the likes of NC State and Iowa. Well he has re-classified to the 2021 class and become a Top 25 prospect there. McCorkle has a high basketball IQ and is extremely athletic and skills. He plays with efficiency and can score from all over the floor. He has added a South Carolina offer to the mix and expect them to keep coming throughout his high school career.
6’7” Jacori Owens
Hickory Grove (Charlotte, NC)
Owens has great size and is coordinate given his size and age. He has the look of a guy who is still growing, and possibly a lot with his long arms, baby face and massive shoe size. He plays well within himself and has a great motor and activity level around the basket. It is easy to look at him now and envision what he could end up being as he continues to grow into his frame.
6’4” Chris Ford
North Meck (Huntersville, NC)
Ford has always been a big name in his class, and he is still that. Transitioning from being one of the biggest kids around to a true wing, Ford showed good ball skills and smooth and effective jump shot. He was able to get to the basket off the bounce, in a straight line and doesn’t play as much bully ball as he once did. Ford does not need to be “the man” on this loaded North Meck team, but he will certainly fill a very important role as they vie for a state championship.
6’6” Noah Allred
NW Guilford (Greensboro, NC)
There is something to like about a rugged blue collard big man. Allred is just that, in that he is a strong 2-handed area rebounder, he sets great screens and he finishes through contact around the basket. There is nothing flashy about what he does, he is a player who does everything he can to make his team better and is very efficient. It will be interesting to see how tall Allred ends up getting, but there is no question there is a spot for him on the floor.
6’7”Tymon Szymanski
Rabun Gap (Rabun Gap, GA)
Szymanski walks onto the court with a sturdy frame and good size to him. He is very skilled with range that extends beyond the 3-point line and a pure stroke with a quick release. He runs the floor well and works hard when defending the post. He plays a lot of stretch-5 for his high school team, but is a player who could eventually make his way out to the wing. Another one who could go in a number of directions depending on how big he eventually gets. With that said, even at 6’7” with growth in his current skill set he is a player to watch.
