Phenom High School Jamboree
From the Sidelines
Unsigned Senior Part 1

The Phenom High School Jamboree held Saturday, November 4th was a huge success. Over 33 teams participated in the one day event where teams played scrimmage games of two 20-minute halves with a running clock. The gym was packed with spectators and high number of college coaches. Today, we want to take a look at some of the top unsigned seniors that played and made major statements.

6'6 '18 BJ Fitzgerald (Carlisle School)

BJ Fitzgerald is simply wired to score. We've seen him countless times during the summer travel ball season and his performance dovetailed with the play at the Phenom HS Jamboree. Fitzgerald averaged 28 PPG and had an event high 45 points. He has excellent length and athleticism with a matching skill set. Lower tier D1 schools have recruited him and should continue to be a high priority for that level.

6'4 '18 Isaiah Wilkins (Mt. Tabor HS)

Isaiah Wilkins is a very intriguing prospect that continues to slide under the recruiting radar. First of all, Wilkins is young for his grade and could easily be in the 2019 class. He has a strong and wide frame and will surprise you with his ability to score from all spots on the court, especially from the 3-point line. At the Phenom Jamboree, Wilkins was clicking on all cylinders. He was dialed in from deep and was knocking down 3-pointers with efficiency. Wilkins averaged 23 PPG and led Mt. Tabor to a 2-1 record for the day. Their lone loss was a close one to regional power Christ School of the NCISAA 3A.

6'4 '18 Stephen Edoka (Concord First Assembly)

Stephen Edoka is an athletic and lengthy wing guard that simply plays with conviction. His high motor and full throttle approach should quickly accelerate his recruitment. Edoka averaged 21.7 PPG and showcased versatility that garnished a lot of attention from the college coaches in attendance. In addition, Edoka is a willing defender and uses his length/athleticism effectively. He should become a high priority for mid majors looking for a hard-nosed player that will give maximum effort and energy throughout the course of the game.

6'5 '18 Maverick LaRue

Maverick LaRue is such a fundamentally sound player, but is even a greater competitor. We have always been impressed with his hard ethic and his ability to 'will his team' to wins. LaRue has the ability to score from all three levels and has excellent court vision. While he will be called upon to shoulder the scoring load for West Forsyth this season, LaRue is a willing passer that continues to make the right play time after time. One thing is for certain, you never have to coach effort with LaRue. He's a big-time competitor! LaRue averaged 18.7 PPG at the Phenom Jamboree and showed a lot of leadership to boot.
