Phenom’s High School Jamboree Preview
6’2” 2017 Carter Collins of East Chapel Hill (NC) – Committed to Davidson

Carter Collins exploded at the Summer Havoc in July. His recruitment instantly grew from a couple of offers to a slew of offers, rightfully so, Collins can be a dominate player.

In August, Collins ended his recruitment by committed to Coach Bob McKillop and Davidson College. How he flew so far under the radar, who knows. Prior to this Summer, Collins was seemingly hiding in plain sight. As a junior at East Chapel Hill High School Collins averaged 22.7 points on 49% shooting from the field. The lefty also chipped in 3.5 boards, 3 assists, and 2.5 steals per game.

As with most of the best players in the state Collins is an alum of the prestigious North Carolina Top 80. After his stellar performance at the 2016 camp we wrote, Carter has excellent length and tremendous bounce off the dribble. While Carter has the ability to score from all three levels on the court, he also impressed us with his court vision and timely passes especially ones off the dribble. He has the unique ability to make the pitch ahead pass and that seems to always be on time and on point. Coach Mills stated, “Carter has a very fundamentally sound game. He has a nice frame with good length along with excellent lateral quickness.” In addition, Carter has a quiet on court demeanor and plays within the team structure.”

At the time of his commitment, Collins picked up around 15 offers. He will have some great matchups in this event, expect a show when he and Andy Pack go head to head!
