It starts in the lay-up lines. You immediately notice Gabe Bryant. It has a little bit to do with his look, he walked out with the Atlanta All Stars at Phenom’s Queen City Challenge with a Steven Adams like mustache. It also has a little bit to do with his incredible explosion, his ability to sky high above the rim to finish powerfully.
Well that explosion translates straight into game play. Strong and explosive, Bryant plays with a non-stop motor. One of those motors that always burns hot as he goes after every rebound, loose ball and blocked shot. He was an integral part of the South Carolina 5A State Championship winning Dorman team.
After watching him play in the Impact Sports Thanksgiving Invitational, Bryant showed out we wrote, “Bryant is a player who plays with a high intensity every time he steps on the floor. He is a bully and makes his presence known by blocking shots and rebounding on the defensive end. On the offensive end he throws down dunks with authority and carries an improving post game.”
When listening to people who have watched Bryant play, some common words or ways to describe Bryant are: explosive, plays with a non-stop motor, very good area rebounder, solid out of area rebounder and rugged.
Like many of the best in the state, the high academic Bryant is an alum of the South Carolina Top 80. After his performance against the state’s best in the prestigious event we wrote, “Bryant has a good frame and is incredibly bouncy. He goes after every rebound and plays the game with a bullish tenacity. Bryant’s camp coach Blake Hall stated, “Gabe had a great attitude in camp. He rebounded and defended with intensity.”
Bryant already carries 3 Division 1 offers from Georgia Southern, Presbyterian and USC Upstate. His interest and recruiting is all over the board right now with Kansas St, Charlotte, Bucknell, Lafayette, Florida Gulf Coast, Williams & Mary and many others are calling him often.
