Juwan Gary transferring out of Columbia to play his senior year at Liberty Heights Academy in Charlotte, NC has been well documented to this point. But what has come of that transfer is an already superstar prospect, the 6’6″ wing is already committed to Alabama, is a major leap in his efficiency and game management.

Gary has always been a competitor, this summer he led his Team United EYBL team to the Elite 8 of the Peach Jam. He averaged 17.3 points and 5.3 Boards with 2.6 Offensive Boards per game. He has been ranked nationally since the 8th grade and also been a part of all the Team USA training camps.

However, after his move to Liberty Heights Academy, Gary has been tightening his game. It isn’t expanding or development, it is his footwork and his shot prep. So far this season Gary is averaging 24.6 points while shooting 55% from the field, playing against a national schedule of teams filled with talent.

Gary is a known commodity, especially in his home town. He has played varsity since the 9th grade in Columbia, he has won state championships in Columbia, he was down to Alabama and South Carolina to play his college ball. He is a favorite son of Columbia, South Carolina. December 15 will be a great show for him, especially watching him play against a very good Lakewood High School team, who should pack the building with their fans and talent.

Regardless, Phenom’s 2nd Annual Capital City Jam will be the place to be.
