Dorman (Spartanburg, SC)
SHSL 5A 5

PM vs. Wilson at Ben Lippen School in Columbia, SC

Dorman is at an all-time stretch of winning and possibly the hottest team in the state of South Carolina. Last season, Dorman made a run to win the first ever South Carolina 5A state championship. Off that team, they had seniors sign with Ohio University and Lenoir Rhyne.

This year, Dorman has leapt out to a 5-0 record winning by an average of 24.2 points (20 is the closest margin of victory) and holding opposing teams to only 43.2 points per game. They are currently ranked as the #1 team in South Carolina's 5A as well as the #1 team overall in the state of South Carolina.

However, this run is not something that just happened this year or last year. Dorman is right in the middle of a run of dominance Over the past six seasons, Dorman is 120-37 with four 20 win seasons, only averaging 6 losses per season during that stretch.

Again, this 2017-18 team has started off to a blazing hot 5-0 start. Let's take a look at their roster

6' 2020 Myles Tate
It is rare that a sophomore leads the charge for the 5A state favorite, but Tate is that guy for Dorman this year. Given his talent and that as a freshman last season, Tate played an integral role on the state championship winning squad as the 6th man, that should come as no surprise. This year he is the team's leading scorer and averaging 3.3 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game. To say Tate is a gamer would be an understatement. He is a jet-fast lead guard who has take over the game ability with range beyond the arc or can blow by to finish at the rim. Phenom Hoops has Tate ranked as the #2 prospect in the 2020 class. He is an absolute joy to watch as he just goes out and makes plays, makes winning plays. College coaches will soon enough be lining every one of his games, however (right now) the fans should get in line and enjoy as he is currently one of the most exciting guards around.

6'9' 2018 Gabe Bryant (Gardner Webb)
Bryant is a terror, an absolute monster attacking the basket. He tries to tear the rim off of the back board going up every time with ill intentions. Bryant is a ferocious rebounder and someone who plays with a wreckless abandon. When he is on the floor, do not take your eyes off him. He will bring the house down AT LEAST once per game with jaw-dropping athleticism.

6'1' Unsigned Senior Ethan Parton
Parton is the one who makes everything go. Nothing is flashy with him, but everything is incredibly efficient. As a guard he is able to play on the ball, and handle in the half court, or off the ball and make shots off the catch. He has a high basketball IQ and is a central figure (on both ends of the floor) in what Dorman does. Recruitment wise, it is not where he should be, that should change soon as you can only produce wins so much on the big stage before colleges take notice.

6'8' 2020 PJ Hall
When it comes to upside, there may not be a player in this entire event who carries more. Phenom Hoops has Hall ranked #1 in his 2020 class. Hall has a great game with a very natural skill set. He can play on the block with touch and athleticism, he can step out and knock down the trail or pick and pop 3. He has great length and good timing on defense, everything is in place for him to continue growing into a major prospect. Presbyterian was the first offer, expect many many more to come as Hall is waiting his time.
