6’3 Parker Stewart of Union City High School in Union City, Tennessee verbally committed to Ole Miss yesterday. Phenom Hoop’s #125 ranked player in the country chose Ole Miss over a final group that included Kansas State, Wyoming, Georgetown, and Nebraska.

Stewart and his Union City High School team will be one of 16 national level teams participating in Phenom’s Inaugural Joe Miller Invitational December 27-30 at New Hanover High School in Wilmington, NC.

Stewart said that Ole Miss was a no-brainer once he sat down and looked at everything, “The thing that stood out the most was how they develop their guards. Also I appreciate their constant success as a winning program.”

Stewart has a nice skill set that can allow him to play multiple roles, he said that Ole Miss gave him a clear view of how he would be used, “They plan on playing me at the 1 and the 2. I am a bigger point guard, who is able to play both on and off the ball. They want to utilize both my ability to make shots and to create plays.”

Stewart joins Mississippi small forward Tirus Smith as the second commitment in Ole Miss’ 2017 class.
