Spartanburg Christian Court One Standouts

6’5 2019 Benjamin Lubarsky: Ball4Lyfe 17U/The Benjamin School (FL)

Lubarsky was by far the most prolific scorer on court one and what makes him so unique is he did it in a multitude of ways.  He is typically an outside-in kind of scorer, but today he started off by attacking the rack, and kept defenders honest with pull-up 3s on the break that shocked you if they didn’t go in.  The smooth lefty played with a fire that was unmatched by opponents and that contagious energy worked its way to the bench for his teammates and coaching staff leading his Ball4Lyfe squad to a thoroughly impressive win.  He doesn’t currently have any offers, but expect mid-majors to be chomping at the bit if he continues to compete at the level he started the live period off.

6’7 2019 Josiah James: TMP Elite 17U/Porter-Gaud (SC)

So must of you guys reading this at least know of Josiah James, considering the fact that he’s a consensus top 25 player in America I would hope you do.  Josiah showed another level of development since I last saw him and that’s largely due to his natural decision making.  James truly is a 6’7 point guard by trade, he’s constantly making the extra pass instinctively and is extremely comfortable shooting the 3 ball beyond the standard HS line.  Look for this kid to possibly jump into the top 10 in the 2019 class after what should be an insane summer from one of the most intriguing 2019’s in America.

6’2 2020 Jake Ledbetter: Team Felton 16U/High Point Christian (NC)

Ledbetter was simply sensational yesterday in a win against a talented Carolina Wolves squad and found a way to score at a high clip at all 3 levels.  He’s certainly developing the point guard skills that will help develop his offensive arsenal to a point where some High Major’s will take even more serious looks at him than they already are.  His release is lightning quick and his ability to hit pull-up jumpers off 1-2 dribbles are what make him so lethal from the perimeter.  Another kind of kid that you’re shocked when his shot doesn’t go in and one that I’m happy I get to see play for the next two years in the #HoopState.

6’2 2019 Trae Hannibal: Carolina Wolves (SC)/Hartsville (SC)

Hannibal’s stock continues to rise due to his incredible versatility at the Point Guard position.  He can score from the perimeter, attacking the rack, or posting up, but what he does best is distribute the ball at a high level.  He’s always looking for the open man and despite a size mismatch against Josiah James, Hannibal held his own.  He’s definitely one of the most electric guards in the region and is an absolute show every time out.
