Player: Anthony Breeland
Height: 6’3
Class: 2023
School: Charlotte Elite Academy
What he did at the MLK Showcase:
Breeland just continues to be extremely productive on the floor as a sophomore and he did it again in Rock Hill, as he led the way with 25 points, scoring in an array of ways, and was impressive in his ability to get to the line as well. But it has been something he has shown all season long so far, averaging 28 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.6 steals, and 1.9 assists per game. That has included four games in which he finished with 30+ points. Breland scores the ball really well using his size and frame, creating for himself and scoring off the bounce. He continues to add strength to his game and is playing with a lot of confidence.
What has been said before:
“Breeland has completely transformed his body, in person, you notice immediately how much he’s bulked up. Breeland remains the same bucket getter he’s always been, but Breeland looked more polished scoring the rock, and more poised with his approach to the game as a lead guard. Breeland is a steady shot maker still, the added muscle has prepared him to better take on contact at the cup as well. Breeland also seemed to balance being a playmaker more efficiently, he’s capable of playing either guard spot. Defensively Breeland was active in passing lanes, and over the weekend aided in the rebound efforts.”
