Player: Abrahm Driver
Class: 2023
Height: 6’6
School: Bull City Prep HS
What he showed at MLK Showcase:
The sophomore big has continued to put some productive performances in front of our scouts over the last few months, and did so again for Bull City Prep, leading the charge with 14 points vs. Charlotte Elite Academy. He showed nice touch around the rim, scoring well and using his frame and size to his advantage. He set the tone in this game, scoring 12 of his 14 points in the first half.
As far as his game goes and as we mentioned, he is a young big that has a sturdy frame and a solid feel around the paint, effectively working and showing post moves, whether it is his feel with his back to the basket, his soft touch with his big hands, or his footwork. Driver also carries his own on the boards as well. He has really continued to progress with his team this season and should be garnering a little more attention as he continues to develop his feel for the game.
What has been said in the past:
”Though he might not be as flashy as some, 6’6 2023 Abrahm Driver simply knows how to produce. Always plays within the team, positions himself for success, and naturally seems to make an impact as a scorer and rebounder.”
“He’s a smart, reliable post prospect with hands, touch, footwork, and a great understanding of how to overwhelm his assignment within the paint on both ends of the floor. Driver moves well for his size, rebounds nicely, and defends effectively against opposing post players. Next in his development process is working to get quicker, as it would allow him to hedge and recover with less resistance. Coach King on Driver: “Abrahm has an absolute force in the post against every team he played. He has solid footwork and great hands, and his reactions and finishing around the rim are extremely advanced for his age. He shows great effort defensively and was able to guard his position well. He should continue to expand his shooting range and his explosiveness, but he is definitely one to keep an eye on for 2023, as he should quickly develop into a problem for opposing teams.” Driver stood out as a leader for this team and continues to solidify himself as a next-level prospect.” – Phenom 150 Evaluation from Oct 2020
