6'8 '20 Richard Amaefule (Blue Ridge School)

We've had the opportunity to watch 6'8 freshman Richard Amaefule multiple times at the Phenom Joe Miller Invitational and this is an easy call. Amaefule is oozing with tremendous upside and potential and could be one of the top players in his class for the state of Virginia. As a matter of fact, we are confident to predict Amaefule will be one of the nation's elite level players by his senior year, if not sooner. He is in his first year at Blue Ridge after transferring from London, England and also played on the British 19U National team.

We're talking about an athletic and bouncy small forward that has a surprisingly strong skill set for his size and age. Amaefule has a nice shooting touch and can step out to the 3-point line and knock down shots with consistency. He can score all three levels and has an effective turn around jumper from the high post. In addition, Amaefule has advanced ball-handling skills for his position and has the ability to go either direction with his moves to the rim. We also liked his one dribble mid range pull up jumper.

Amaefule has the ability to put the ball on the floor in transition and will surprise you with his court vision and passing off the dribble. He has a quick first step and is somewhat crafty around the basket. Without question, Amaefule has a very bright future. He has all the physical attributes and intangibles and will be national name sooner rather than later.
