WCBA 15U Comes Away With Phenom David Rose MDC Championship
WCBA Elite 15U found a way to come out victorious in a tightly contested battle against TMP Elite 15U, a matchup where both sides showcased some of their programs young talent. One of the main reasons WCBA was able to find a way to win the matchup 64-60 was the steady play of their backcourt. 5’8 2022 Justin Monden and 5’8 2022 Jaylen Bowen. Both of these guards showcased a willingness to take and make big shots, allowing WCBA to have reliable offensive options in crunch time that is needed in a close game. Monden is an absolute catalyst with the ball, getting wherever he wants and displaying high level decision making for a young guard. Bowen showed his ability to knock down big time catch and shoot jumpers, often off passes from Monden, helping his team come away with the win. 6’0 2022 CJ Jordan also played a huge role in the win with his defensive versatility and ability to finish around the cup. For TMP the inside/outside duo of 6’6 2022 Jayden Johnson and 6’1 2022 Davion Joyner provided a huge offensive spark, leaving WCBA in limbo defensively on multiple occasions with Johnsons overwhelming size, and Joyner’s ability to create offense. Joyner was arguably the long term prospect on display in this one, and should be one to track for years to come. Both of these programs are some of the top independent programs that consistently churn out next level talent without big sponsorship money, which is always good to see.
