2024 Elijah Crawford has certainly been a name you have been hearing a lot more and that should only continue as he recently announced that he has transferred to Legacy Early College while also being a key part of TSF this summer. The 6’2 guard should certainly be a name in South Carolina to watch out for, as he looks to turn some heads and show more of his game on the big stage with LEC. He also has been seeing an uptick in his recruitment, with more schools getting involved. Crawford talked with Phenom Hoops about the latest, the new interests coming his way, some of his recent visits, and upcoming visits.
Phenom: How did everything go this summer your way' What all were you able to take away from summer ball and what did you want to show more with your game'
Crawford: My summer went pretty well. This summer I feel like I could’ve shown my jumper a little more but you will see a lot of it this year.
Phenom: How do you think you have gotten better as a player' What has been your focus in your game'
Crawford: Since being at Legacy I’ve improved my jump shot a lot. And since being here, I’ve stepped up as a leader and I’m also improving on reading the defense.
Phenom: What is your excitement about playing with LEC this upcoming season' How has the team been looking'
Crawford: This season I’m looking to win and develop as a leader and as a player.
Offers: Boston College, SMU, South Carolina, New Mexico State, LSU, Georgia State, Ole Miss, Wichita State, and Xavier.
Phenom: What schools have expressed interest your but haven’t yet offered you'
Crawford: I’ve been hearing from new schools recently like Wake Forest, Virginia, Stanford, Clemson, USF, FSU, etc.
Phenom: How was your visit to South Carolina' What all did you get to do, what did you talk about with the staff, and how has that relationship been with them'
Crawford: South Carolina was fun. I got to watch them play Georgia (football), got a tour of the facilities, and got to hang out with some of the players. The staff and I just talked about how I was a priority to the program. And my relationship with the staff is great! I pretty much talk to every coach on staff.
Phenom: How was your visit to Georgia this summer'
Crawford: My visit at Georgia was also good. I got to watch practice, tour the entire school, and chat it up with the coaches.
Phenom: Are there any schools you have planned upcoming to visit'
Crawford: I plan on visiting LSU on the 8th when they play Tennessee. I also visit Georgia on November 5th. I also plan to take a visit to Wichita State, Wake Forest, and Boston college soon, but I don’t know the dates yet.
