Davidson Day and Carmel Christian; anticipate a showdown

Davidson Day and Carmel Christian come off two successful seasons, with Davidson Day being crowned champion and Carmel Christian making a good run all throughout the season.  These two also met up last year for an intense matchup that ended up going the Patriots way.  Now, these two meet again on a neutral floor and the intensity should be there once again.  Davidson Day lost several key players from last year but added some intriguing talent, including Donovan Atwell.  Carmel Christian returns much of their group from last year while adding some key players like Cade Tyson and company.  Who will come out on top this year to start the season'

Teams looking to kick off the season in a big way

There will be a few other teams that will be looking to start the season off on the right foot.  Northside Christian is a young team but has the talent to really be a contender.  They go up against Bull City Prep Durham on Friday night.  Asheville Christian is hoping to build off a season in which they won 18 games last year, while Gaston Christian is wanting to start the season off with a bang after going 12-15 last year.  Both would like to be 1-0 after Friday night.  These teams will certainly be ones you want to watch on Day 1.

Carolina Basketball Academy (NC and GA) looking to make noise

People got an early glimpse of these two programs at the Jamboree Bash and they will be back in action again for the Phenom Tip-Off Classic.  Both teams provide names that should have the attention of college coaches and fans.  Elijah Wilson is a name on the Georgia squad that holds multiple offers and continues to earn the attention of high-major coaches.  But there are plenty of others that should be fun to watch.  On the NC team, Sincere Malone is a name to remember, as the 2021 prospect captured some eyes last week and he is a new name to the state of North Carolina.

Concord Academy looking to continue their winning ways

This is a program that is coming off a 35-3 season and lost several key starters.  But that doesn't mean they will be slowing down any time soon.  They will be led by Trae Benham, who averaged nearly 20 points per game and can really light it up.  Logan Threatt recently transferred in and should make a dynamic backcourt.  Then you have players like Javian Cannady and Tyler Fearne, two guys that will look to make a bigger impact while 2023 Sergej Cvetkovic and Nikola Mircic are two of the younger prospects that will be names to remember.  Concord Academy has continued to have a winning tradition and they hope to continue that early on Friday night.
