Rabun Gap went (16-13) last year winning the regular-season conference championship. They lost 4 seniors but have built a new roster with great size & speed. Including the number 1 scorer in North Carolina. Coach Cox and his Eagles look to bring home a conference championship with their new and improved roster.

N’Fari Benjamin 5’11 G 2021

Is a fearless guard that is a blur in the open court. Plays exceptional defense, hustling all over the floor with active hands. His agility and speed should be almost unmatched in his conference. I could see him excelling at attacking the basket, drawing defenders & then kicking it out to shooters all season long.

Nate Brafford 6’8 W 2022

He was the leading scorer in NC last year at 33.9 PPG. Not very often do you come by players his size that can shoot this consistently from outside. He has a sound handle and protects the ball well while dribbling in traffic. I expect him to become a highly touted recruit over the next two years. I also think his playmaking is a little underrated. He could have the opportunity to make his team better with his passing skills if other teams game plan for him.

Carl Thorpe 6’7 F 2021

Should be regarded as one of the top shot blockers in NC. Can guard most positions on the court with his quick feet and athleticism. Runs the floor very well and has outstanding help-side defense. He has a quick second jump that allows him to get offensive rebounds & put backs. I wouldn’t be surprised if he averaged a double-double this season.

Ricardus Butkus 6’3 G 2021

Great overall shooter with nice rotation & ark on the ball. Attacks downhill and gets to the basket. Finishes through contact. Look for him to have a breakout senior season with his great shooting and leadership.

John Tastinger 6’2 G 2021

Has been working harder than anybody over quarantine and it shows. Shooting at a high percentage with nice form and touch. Also can be a great playmaker in the open floor. Last year his on-ball defense improved tremendously. Look for John to be a difference-maker on both ends this season.

Domas Kauzonas 6’9 C 2023

Is an intriguing prospect moving forward' Has great size for his age. I look for him to play a significant role for this team. He has footwork in the paint & moves to match.

Reid Carrier 5’10 G 2023

Coming off a great sophomore season at Highlands averaging 22.9 PPG and 4.5 RPG, Reid looks to show his great playmaking & shooting skills in his new role with this squad. High IQ player that makes the right play. Protects the ball & has a very high assist to turnover ratio. I love his shot selection & has the ability to make a huge impact even with a harder strength of schedule playing for this new team.

Zsombor Vertes 6’5 F 2023

Looks as if he can play inside and out but can play inside and get multiple rebounds. Very quick and strong for his size. I look for him to play a key role as a utility player for this squad. He can do a lot to impact the game with his hustle & determination.
