July is going to be fun, especially with Phenom Hoops.  That is why we are getting just a small head-start on the teams and players that will be in attendance for the Summer Havoc.  Here, we look to preview just a few names to watch for throughout the weekend in Rock Hill, with many others stepping up their game in front of college coaches.

Upward Stars Pee Dee 17u

South Carolina is loaded with talent all around the state and Upward Stars Pee Dee will be bringing a few names that coaches will want to check out on the court from the state.  When you start with this team though, you have to look at one of their younger players but a leader on the floor in 2023 6’4 Jamari Briggs, who holds offers already and could add more after this weekend.  The guard plays incredibly strong and understands how to make plays, which is why he will be a target for several schools this July.

Then you look at other players like:

2022 6’2 Marcus Saunders, who is a scoring guard that averaged 15 points per game as a sophomore at Conway Christian.

2022 Zykee Knox
SC Top 80 Evaluation: He’s a smart, pretty well-rounded guard prospect that is able to thrive from either backcourt position with or without the ball in his hands. Knox is unselfish but also stands out as a reliable three-level scorer and intelligent playmaker quite regularly. He is very quick and it’s especially evident as an on-ball defender, where he was able to force numerous turnovers on the day.

2022 Griffin Folse
SC Top 80 Evaluation: He’s a long, wiry forward/post prospect with a high motor and quality two-way feel for the game. Folse can operate in a variety of different roles and has the necessary skillset to adjust his approach based on defensive assignments. He has touch with either hand around the basket and runs the floor consistently hard in transition. Folse utilizes his length well to secure rebounds and alter shots inside the paint.

2022 Valerian Bruce
Phenom 150 Evaluation: He’s a big, sturdy, well-rounded guard prospect with the ability to get downhill and make plays for himself and others. Bruce finishes very well around the basket and is capable of thriving in transition, but also looks to make the unselfish play whenever possible. He displays a high IQ and rebounds at a consistent rate on either end of the floor.

Others To Watch:

2022 Tanas Watkins
2022 CaDarrius Sowell
