The Phenom Grassroots TOC gave our staff another chance to check in on the talent around the state and 2024 6’6 Joshua Randolph is one that we have talked about before and it seems that he has continued to progress with his game.
At the event, Randolph really showed that he can fill it up and be a force in a variety of ways, whether it was scoring, using his length to create havoc defensively, or helping on the boards as he finished averaging 16 points and 12 rebounds throughout the event. When watching Randolph, the 6’6 wing really displayed the ability to score the ball on multiple levels, knocking down shots from three especially in the corner but also putting the ball on the deck, getting into the paint, and using his frame and touch over defenders. You also have to like his aggressive mentality on the boards, attacking the offensive glass and creating second-chance opportunities or rebounding and attacking in transition.
Randolph is a player that some might not know yet, but you see flashes in his game that should attract the eyes of college coaches at the next level.
What Has Been Said:
“2024 Joshua Randolph (All Carolina): Randolph continues to produce at this stage. The 6’6 wing filled it up once again, something he has done before on the Phenom Hoops platform. Randolph’s size and ability to step out and be a threat from the perimeter, or use his size, get into the paint, and finish is tough for any opponent. Randolph does a solid job in reading what the defense gives him and taking advantage of the opportunities.”
“We’ve already become fairly accustomed to seeing Joshua Randolph with All-Carolina in the travel ball season, but this was our first viewing with the Spartans. He’s long, wiry, and fairly athletic, which will allow Randolph to earn some meaningful minutes in the frontcourt rotation. Randolph provides great energy and does a nice job of filling in the gaps on either end of the floor. He rebounds well, runs hard in transition, and finishes effectively around the basket. It’ll be exciting to watch his growth going forward.” – TBS Open Gym in 2021
