Prashant is a powerful and deceptively quick scorer who combines a smooth stroke and three-point shot-making skills with some creativity and physicality attacking the rim. He has a strong frame, a long wingspan, and is gifted athletically. He uses his powerful legs and strong upper body effectively accompanied by solid ball handling to create off the dribble. Prashant keeps his dribble low and changes directions with quick crossovers and a powerful first step. His strength overwhelms many defenders as he attacks space and he uses his body nicely to protect the basketball and keep defenders at bay. Prashant can bully many defenders yet also has the quickness and agility to slice through traffic to score.
He demonstrates very good body control and a soft touch around the rim to finish off an otherwise physical and punishing attack on the rim. His success off the dribble can also be attributed to his ability to bury spot-ups at a high rate from beyond the arc. He demonstrates excellent footwork and fluid and mechanically sound stroke. Prashant moves intelligently off the ball both along the perimeter for spot-ups or making quick basket cuts where he has great hands and finishing skills.
On the defensive end, he has sound footwork and very good mobility. He can guard either wing effectively on the perimeter while also making his presence felt in the paint as a rebounder and shot-blocker. Prashant is a powerful leaper who uses his long wingspan and strength to rebound in traffic and also grab rebounds outside his area. He is so active and hunts down rebounds relentlessly. Prashant burst onto the national scene after a strong performance at the 2019 Phenom 150 where the then Cannon School (Concord NC) wing earned all camp honors for his performance and was identified by many Phenom Hoop Report scouts as a prospect to keep an eye on. Their call was right on the money and Prashant continues to perform at a high level as he transferred recently to Dematha Catholic and should see his stock skyrocket in the very competitive Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC). He has built up his body and poses a serious matchup concern both physically and with his versatile skill set and coaches should make him a must see on their 2023 watch list.
