Milyan Smith-Walker 6'4 218 2023 York HS (VA) / Boo Williams

Milyan is a bruising slasher type using a quick handle and some nice crossover combinations and a strong, physical frame to take whatever space he wants.' 'He can create nicely off the dribble and keep defenders off-balance as he does a great job using low, quick dribbles and sound footwork but he is so overpowering for most guards because of his agility and strong, solid 6'4 218-pound frame he can pound his way to the rim and score.' While he can be bullish and overpowering off the dribble, make no mistake, Milyan can find shots in the middle with a capable handle, mobility, and footwork, and the ability to shoot off the dribble efficiently.'

Milyan does a great job moving without the ball and is a threat to knock down the jumper anywhere on the floor.' A lefty with a fluid stroke he has very good footwork and his overall mechanics are consistent.' He's comfortable operating on the perimeter and shows a surprisingly powerful burst attacking space.' Not quick but authoritative, space-eating.' Milyan shot 56% from the floor while averaging 18 PPG as a sophomore.' He also shot 42% from behind the arc and 76% from the line so he can shoot it!' 'His strength and powerful frame serve him well as he carves out space in the paint for post-ups and duck-ins.' He has a nice touch and finishes at a high rate.' Defensively Milyan outmuscles opponents for position and elevates off the floor quite well given his size.' He gets position, beats people off the floor, and is an active rebounder, he outworks people!' 'He moves well in help situations and recovers nicely.' Shows a great feel, instincts.' Moves his feet nicely and demonstrates good lateral mobility capable of defending either wing along the perimeter.'

Milyan set the bar high after a breakout sophomore year at York High School.' He averaged 18 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 4.4 assists and earned First Team All VHSL Region 3A honors.' 'His physical makeup, work ethic, and versatile skill set are very intriguing and Milyan could be destined for great successes at the high school level over the next couple of seasons and very likely beyond the high school level!' Could be an all-state performer as early as next year!' '
