Logan Suber 5'11 155 2023 Riverbend HS (VA) / Team Loaded VA

Logan Suber is a true floor general in every sense!  He has a high IQ and is a vocal point guard who is one of the best facilitators and passers in his class throughout the state.  He's a coach on the floor whose game management skills and court awareness combine with natural leadership qualities.  I'm so impressed watching him interact with his coaches and teammates and how much a positive and assuring presence he provides.  Confident, knowledgeable, and vocal, and with an advanced skill level.  Logan plays with an unwavering pace.  He's a strong ball-handler with great instincts, always looking to make the correct pass and the correct read.  He changes speeds so effectively and can burst right by defenders seemingly whenever he wants to.  He uses hesitations nicely, changes directions abruptly, and plays on balance.

Logan is a threat not only with his high-level passing skills but his ability to engage bigger defenders, finish in traffic, and the frequency at which he can get to the free-throw line.  One of his strengths offensively is his ability to hit dribble pull-ups with great consistency.  Logan has excellent footwork and the threat of his blow-by-burst often forces defenders to play off him just a bit which only makes his dribble pull-ups more effective.  Logan demonstrates excellent footwork, gets off the floor quickly and his elevation on dribble pull-ups allows him to get the shot off over taller defenders easily.  He is strong enough when being crowded to use a shoulder nudge and play off the contact to create separation for the jumper and he's amazingly efficient in the mid-range.  His shot mechanics are sound, fluid, high release.  He has an assortment of floaters to finish over length and he is always surveying the floor looking to find cutters so he is always a passing threat ready to deliver that pinpoint pass and create opportunities for teammates.  He can play off the ball as well and is a threat from beyond the arc hitting catch and shoot jumpers and using the dribble to get to his spots where he pulls up and hits shots at a good rate.

Logan combines impressive shot-making skills from all levels in addition to his natural playmaking instincts.  He has very good speed with the dribble, sees the whole floor, and stays in attack mode.  Logan is a big playmaker on the defensive end as well.  He's like a glue trap defending the dribble.  He's in your bubble and his quick feet and strong upper body allow him to guard you close in space and not get beat.  He defends the dribble so effectively and his ball pressure so relentless that he takes the ball out of his opponent’s hands rendering them ineffective.  Off the ball, he has great instincts and quickness pursuing steals and is always in a position to make a play.  He is a high academic student-athlete carrying a 4.25 GPA.

His poise and maturity allow him to play with extreme confidence and he's a guy you can count on to produce in crucial moments as evidenced last year when he was a key contributor off the bench for a Riverbend HS team that finished 10-0 in their league and 11-1 overall eventually losing in the VHSL Region 6B quarterfinal.  Logan scored a game-high 12 points in that season-ending playoff loss.  Logan's brother Jalen Suber was the senior leader of that team and earned Player of the Year honors.  Jalen had interest from a number of schools but has opted to concentrate on academics and attends Virginia Tech.  I expect Logan will enjoy similar success and also eventually become a target for college coaches.  He is a skilled and intelligent point guard and a proven winner with a bright future on and off the court.
