Player: Julian Arias
Class: 2022
Position: Guard
School: Carmel Christian
One thing you will get with 2022 Julian Arias from Carmel Christian is a gritty player. This is a guard that competes at the highest of levels on the floor each time he comes out. Though he is one of the smaller guards on the floor, that doesn’t stop this young man from getting up into defenders, playing with a physical feel, and making plays that allow his team to find success.
And he has been doing that for quite some time now. From when we watched him at the Phenom 150 in 2019 to recently at the CCS MLK Showcase just this past weekend, Arias continues to play so tough and scrappy. He truly is a team-first guard that helps initiate the offense and finds his teammates well but you also have to love the energy and competitiveness he plays with on both ends as well.
This young man is one that can play and help at the next level; also one that you will never have to work about bringing energy, competing on both ends, making smart decisions, and making positive plays. He is a team-first player, he will give you everything he has, and he doesn’t need the spotlight to shine, something he has continued to show this season at Carmel Christian.
What Has Been Said:
“He’s a wiry, team-first guard prospect that typically works to make a scoring impact as a cutter and spot-up threat. Arias plays pretty hard, which is evident on defense and especially as a rebounder—where he consistently outworked bigger opponents. Next in his development process is working to become a more reliable ball-handler, as it would allow him to play either backcourt position with relative ease. Coach Bernardi on Arias: “In spite of his size, Julian was a very effective player for us. His ability to be coached and willingness to be a facilitator stood out. Also, his ability to knock down catch-and-shoot threes was very impressive, as his form is top-notch.” – 2019 Evaluation
“Julian Arias doesn’t get enough credit for what he brings to the game. Brings tons of leadership/energy. High basketball IQ. Good on-ball defender. Battles every single possession. Has been really good for Carmel all season.” – Tyler Lewis in 2022
