It wasn’t long ago Phenom Hoops was down in the Outer Banks for a great event, Guys vs. Cancer.  It was an outstanding event that provided an opportunity to check in on some new talent around the state.  The host school, First Flight, was a very intriguing and fun team to watch.  They have some tremendous guards but a name that also grabbed our attention was 2022 6’8 Cooper Hawk.

He is a name that many might not know about but has been producing this season and could be only scratching the surface.

After his performance on Day 1 at the event, we had this to say:

“First Flight has always been known for their perimeter shooting but 6’7 Cooper Hawk provided positive minutes and a solid interior presence for his team.  He stayed active around the post, attacked the boards, and really made his opponent be aware of his presence in the paint. Nice touch, ran from spot to spot in the post, and showed nice touch.”

On the season, Cooper is posting averages of 10 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 blocks per game. He loves to make an impact on both ends, making his presence known, protecting the basket, running the floor well, and finishing well around the basket.

A forward flying under the radar in North Carolina but has been demonstrating his production level on the court.  It is why recently earned an offer from Bridgewater to start the year.  Continue to check in on this unsigned senior that has just produced this season and still has room to grow.
