Player: Antoine Piper
High School: Vance HS, NC
Piper is back on the court and is hoping to have a big summer ahead, giving everyone a chance to view more of his developing game. After missing this past season at Vance, he is now back even stronger and ready to be a leader on and off the court. Piper gave us a small glimpse as a sophomore at Vance high school, as he averaged 3.2 points and 1.9 rebounds in just under 10 minutes of action. Now, he has put in the hard work to prepare for what he hopes to be a big summer and upcoming high school season.
“It feels good,” he told Phenom Hoops. “I’ve been putting in the work this offseason. I can feel myself getting better and stronger. I’ve been working on my shooting and being more consistent from three and my defense.”
Playing with Anthony Morrow Elite early on this summer, Piper has been showing that he continues to bring that strong feel and presence, finishing at the rim, and being able to play/defend multiple positions on the court.
And we fully expect him to be a big part for Vance this upcoming season, as he is excited about the talent on the floor with him next season. “I feel like this is a special group that is willing to work and reach our goal coming into next season. The coaching staff, I love it at Vance, they always are pushing us to become a better person on and off the court.”
Piper is hoping to remind everyone of his game this summer and grab the attention of some college coaches, as a few have shown some early interest already. He wants to show more that he is willing to do whatever is needed on the court; rebounding, scoring, defense, etc.
