Player: Daylan Askew

Height: 6’4
Class: 2021
School: Hertford County

Last Season:
Askew had a terrific junior season last year at Herford County high school, as he played in 26 games and averaged 19.5 points per game, 3.7 assists, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.0 steals per game, helping his team rack up the wins. He also added 51 made 3-pointers, shooting 34 percent from behind the arc and 46 percent overall.

Game Description:
“I’m a three-level scorer that has a quick first step. I make the right reads, I can knock the three down off catch and shoot or pull up, and I have an explosive burst to the rim.” Askew also has been focusing on his defense heading into next season, as well as rebounding, a higher IQ for the game, and being a better inside scorer.

Phenom Hoops Frank Bennett recently said this about Askew:

“Daylan Askew (6'4 2021 Hertford County) is a slippery, creative scorer. He can hit the three on catch & shoot or pulling up off the dribble. Uses rangy strides, gets to the rim almost at will. Has an explosive burst attacking space. Can stop on a dime and his pull-up J is deadly!”

Recruitment:
Askew recently announced that he had received his first offer from Bryant and Stratton. “They told me I would fit well in their program and to keep working hard and I deserve it,” he told Phenom Hoops. He has also been earning interest from Mount Olive, Young Harris, and Guilford.
