Season in Review:

Watson was a huge part of Spartanburg's season, in which they were able to rack up 17 wins overall and was 9-5 in the region.  The rising senior has been a consistent prospect over the last two years for the Vikings.  As a sophomore, he averaged 12.0 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game.  He followed that up this past season, playing in 22 games and averaging 11.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.6 steals per game.  He also shot 38 percent from three and 40 percent overall.

Watson is a smart prospect both on and off the court and understands the importance of hard work.  He is a guard that likes to facilitate but also show his ability to score; he also likes to make opponents uncomfortable on the defensive end.

South Carolina Top 80 evaluation:

'He's a smart, strong, athletic guard prospect with the ability to consistently get downhill and finish through any amount of contact at the rim. Watson also has a solid perimeter jumper but typically looks to attack the basket. He proved to be a very reliable defensive player that can switch across multiple positions and rebound nicely for his size/position. Coach Pope on Watson: 'Drayton is a strong young man! He has the ability to really take over a game with his dribble-penetration. He's a solid defender that can matchup with the opposing 1-4. With the development of his midrange and three-point jumper, Drayton could be a great guard in South Carolina.'
