Phenom Hoops continues to bring our readers and followers some of the best previews around to get ready for high school basketball in North Carolina.  We move on to take a look at Concord High School who is part of the South Piedmont Conference in the 3A Division. Concord comes back after finishing the season with a 7-7 overall record, as they hope to make some more noise this season.  They return some key players from last year but also add some very intriguing prospects.

As far as returning players, they return some firepower from last season. Senior guard, Johnakin Franklin, comes back after a terrific season in which he earned SPC All-Conference honors.  Averaging 16 points, 5 assists, and 2 steals per game while shooting 50 percent from the floor, Franklin is expected to continue leading this team in his final season.  People also need to keep tabs on two juniors in James Smith, a 6'1 guard who averaged 10 points and 5 rebounds last year, as well as Brayden Blue who is a 6'3 forward coming off a season in which he averaged 8 points and 5 rebounds per game.

Coach Krueger will also be looking for some key newcomers this year to help.  2023 Kayin Thompson, 2024 Jeremiah Howard, and 2023 Justin Garland all bring good size to the floor.  Thompson and Howard weren't able to play last season and hope to help this team more this upcoming season.  2023 Jerell Reddick, a 6'1 forward comes in from South Carolina, and 2024 Chris Arellano Gonzalez, should also help with his 6'6 body that brings a good low post presence.

With who is returning and a few new names, Concord hopes to make a bigger jump in the conference and overall.' Make sure you check them out this season.
