2023 6’8 Brigham Rogers has been rising up the lists for college coaches, as he has added several offers since the last time Phenom Hoops watched him at the Grassroots TOC. We sit down and spoke to Rogers about the latest, his thoughts on the schools that have offered, and who else has been showing interest his way.

What Was Said:

'Every time the Atlanta All-Stars attend our events, we walk away impressed with their collection of talent and overall ability as a team. However, Brigham Rogers seemed to make a lasting impression with his clear next-level identity as a modern post player. At 6-foot-8 with skill, fluidity, and the ability to score with efficiency from the post or perimeter, he's an absolute problem for opponents. Rogers is the primary offensive cog for this group, which is evidenced by their consistent post touches and desire to run sets through him. Between his IQ, footwork, toughness, and touch with either hand, Rogers can score in so many ways around the basket. He can face-up, reliably finish over both shoulders, or pose a lethal spot-up threat from beyond the arc. Rogers is a strong two-way rebounder who alters shots at a consistent rate and runs the floor effectively in transition. It'll be interesting to track his recruitment, as Rogers should be a hot commodity across the foreseeable future.'

Recruitment Update:

Phenom: How would you best describe your game'
Rogers: I really like to do a little bit of everything, my favorite thing is running the floor and beating the defense down the court but also really comfortable taking advantage of mismatches by attacking from the perimeter or posting up on a smaller or slower guy. The pick and pop and pick and roll are also coming along nicely in our offense.

Phenom: How has it been playing with Atlanta All-Stars so far'
Rogers: It has been great. I love all my teammates and it has been fun to see everyone getting better in the system on both ends of the floor.

Phenom: You have added offers from Toledo, Lipscomb, Indiana State, Belmont, and Furman. Wanted to get your initial thoughts on them and what they have said they like about your game'
Rogers: I feel like the biggest step I've taken recently is improving my motor and it seems that is what coaches love to see, is someone willing to be all over the floor. And it has helped to play with two other bigs, so that we can all stay fresh and energized. I'm definitely super thankful for all of the coaches that have reached out and offered. I definitely appreciate the coaches that have been communicating throughout the process and continuing to believe in me and I know I would be super happy at any of the schools so far.

Phenom: Have you been able to visit any schools'
Rogers: For June, I'm planning visits to Belmont, Lipscomb, Furman, and Wofford and I have visited some of those already in the past but coming back to meet the players and hang out with them some more. I've already visited Belmont, Lipscomb, Wofford, and Samford.

Phenom: Who has been showing interest your way and who would you say has been strong'
Rogers: Wofford, Loyola-Chicago, Bucknell, Samford, Davidson, Wyoming, UTC, Stephen A. Austin, Lafayette, and a few others. All of them have definitely picked up a god bit since AAU started but have been consistent throughout the past year.
