The Phenom Hoop State Fall League has been tremendous, and we are heading into championship weekend. But there have been plenty of storylines and players that have grabbed my attention. Even though this list could go on a lot longer, here are the top players who have left their mark on me so far at the Fall League at the shooting guard position. 2024 Langston Boyd (Cox Mill): Boyd had a very...

Hoop State Fall League (West) Standouts (Week 1) (Part 1)

2024 Jordan Patton (Cougars): Patton continues to flourish as a prospect for this team, and college coaches should be all over this young man. He does so much for a team, and it is easy to see.  Patton brings size and versatility, can score from an array of levels and positions, defends multiple positions, finishes at the rim, and can be aggressive, but also does all the little things to help...

POB’s Eye Catchers from Day 2 at the George Lynch Invitational

2023 Noah Van Bibber (Concord Academy): Bibber can really be a critical piece for his team because when he is clicking and stretching the defense with his shot-making ability, Concord Academy has plenty of weapons to be effective. He did that today, finding the open spots in the defense, rising up, and knocking key shots with his jumper.  When he is on along with everyone else, this team is...

POB’s Eye Catchers from Summer Finale Day 1 (Part 1)

2025 Jayden Ross (Elite 1): It was fun to watch Ross operate early on Day 1.  He continues to show his development as a player, while showing his ability to not only knock down shots but also be a playmaker on the floor. Really like his feel and pace that he plays with, picking his spots and displaying a soft touch on his shot.  2028 Eddie Cota (Carolina Heights): The son of Ed Cota, you can see...

POB’s Eye Catchers from Phenom Team Camp (Day 1, Part 1)

2024 Xavier Johnson (Fayetteville Academy): Johnson came out strong to start his weekend at the Phenom Team Camp, using his 6’5 frame well, being active on the floor, creating second-chance opportunities for his team, attacking the glass, and getting downhill to make plays. Loved the energy and motor that he set for his team. 2023 Will Gray (East Forsyth): Gray continues to be a staple here in...
