Player: Issac Byers Jr.
Class: 2025
Height: 6’1
School: Ashbrook
Continuing to look at players that have been on the Phenom Platform as of late, we look at a senior in 2025 6’1 Issac Byers Jr. at Ashbrook. Byers recently played in the George Lynch Invitational and the Phenom Lakesgiving, leading his team in both events.
Byers has been one that has consistently been productive in leading the way for his team, no matter if has been during travel ball or high school ball. This summer, Byers clearly made more of a name for himself and put himself on our radars, as he was able to showcase his speed and playmaking ability, his overall bounce and athleticism, and his ability to be a strong offensive producer. It seems that he has only carried that into the high school season at Ashbrook, as he has shown his ability to fill it up. He started off the season in a big way with a 38-point performance and backed that up with strong performances in the last two Phenom events. At the Phenom Lakesgiving, Byers finished with 17 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, and was able to make an impact defensively as well.
Byers has been at his best when he is in attack mode, doing an exceptional job in attacking downhill, putting pressure on the defense, and finishing over defenders or at the rim. But he mixes up his attack very well from multiple levels, while also putting that same pressure on the defensive end. Byers should be in for a big season at Ashbrook and looks to be the clear leader for the Greenwave this season.
What Has Been Said:
“6’0 ’25 Isaac Byers (Ashbrook) has been fun to watch. Quick, smart and athletic. Sneaky athletic at that. Makes quick decisions in transition and constantly putting pressure on the defense. Dropped 25pts in his last outing.”
“6’1 2025 Issac Byers had multiple games of 30+ at the #PhenomHoopStateFinale. Strong, athletic guard. Excels getting downhill and finishing at the rim. Also, shown the ability to make shots from perimeter.”
“6’1 2025 Issac Byers – athletic, aggressive scoring guard. Really good getting to his spots. Excels getting downhill and finishing at the rim. Rebounds really well for his position.”
