It was great to get in on the action on the girls' side with the Her Hoop State 150, getting a glimpse of some intriguing talent that we will for sure have our eyes on this season. One player that really caught our eyes with her play was 2023 5'10 Kairah Dixon Booker from North Mecklenburg.
In the end, she took home Ms. Playmaker and she did just that all throughout the event.' Booker showcased a tremendous feel for the game.' Whether it was her scoring power, using his size to finish around the basket, embrace contact, get to the line, or knockdown shots, she scored in a variety of ways.'
But she also was tremendous in finding her teammates on the floor, delivering dimes to set up her teammates for easy baskets, being very unselfish on the floor, and showing a terrific IQ. You add all that as well to her ability to get on the boards and play multiple positions, Booker is a tough matchup that just makes winning plays.
It will be extremely interesting to see what she can do at North Meck team, a program that seems to be loaded with talent.
