Justin Bass 6’0 155 2023 (Kecoughtan High School, Hampton VA)

Justin is an exceptional athlete!  A tough, hard-nosed competitor who brings great energy and effort on both ends of the floor.  A defensive stopper whose quickness, upper body strength, and relentless motor allows him to strap up and defend baseline to baseline effectively and also aids in his work on the glass where he is an opportunistic defender doing whatever it takes to possess the basketball be it rebounding, getting to loose balls or using his quickness and anticipation in passing lanes for steals.  He uses his lateral quickness to beat opponents to spots and is a game-changer on the defensive end.  Offensively he will be an impact guy as well!

Justin can beat you from deep or off the dribble and attacks the rim fearlessly.  He maximizes his quickness with solid ball-handling skills and his ability to win isolations regularly and beat defenders with his explosive first step allows him to create for teammates as well.  Justin has the ability to hang in the air, absorb contact, and finish around bigs.  Shows a nice touch and the ability to convert tough finishes at a good rate.  He is very good in catch and shoot scenarios, a legitimate three-point threat as a spot-up shooter he has had a number of games with multiple three-pointers.  Justin is so adept at beating defenders off the dribble but does a good job using the threat of his jumper to open up the floor.  He had a career-high 19 points with 4 steals and 3 assists in a mid-December game last season.  A stat line his coaches expect will be the norm for their budding star.

Justin also has a brother who plays for Kecoughtan High School as Christian Bass has proven he can come off the bench and provide productive minutes at the high school level.  More than a quick and athletic playmaker Justin demonstrates sound decision-making skills and the willingness and ability to guard multiple positions.  He’s the kind of player a coach loves to have on his roster and I expect he will become one of the most recognizable and impactful sophomores in the 757.   Justin Bass will be soon be mentioned among the areas next level prospects!
