Player: Omarion Blount
School: Washington HS
Class: 2021
Height: 6’1
Last Season:
Blount had a tremendous junior campaign, one that certainly deserves more attention. Playing in 26 games and helping his team to an 18-9 overall record, Blount averaged 17.8 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.0 steals per game at Washington High School. That includes nine games in which he finished with 20+ points. He also knocked down 45 3-pointers on 38 percent shooting from behind the arc and 52 percent shooting overall.
Upcoming season:
He certainly is excited about getting back on the court and continuing to showcase his game. Blount has been pretty consistent the last two seasons for Washington but looks to end it with a bang.
“I’m very excited,” he told Phenom Hoops about the upcoming season. “Never been more excited. My goals this year is to better our team chemistry, be a leader, and step up and be the leader when our team needs me.”
Blount is hoping to bring that same scoring threat on the floor, one that he would describe is at its best when he is off the ball and can knock down shots. As a combo guard, he brings a dynamic ability to score from the perimeter, getting out in space, and knocking down shots. And he hopes to improve even more in all aspects of his game, making him more of a complete player.
As far as his recruitment has gone, he recently earned an offer from Wake Tech CC, giving him his first offer.
