Player: Ahmari Hicks
Class: 2025
School: East Meck

Summer is ending, which means the high school season is right around the corner.  To prepare for the upcoming season, we are looking to highlight players in the Class of 2025 that will be prospects to watch, as they look to go out in style.  Continue to check back on all the latest player profiles with Phenom Hoops.

2025 Ahmari Hicks would be a play that I would have my eyes on more and could be a sneaky get for a future program. The 6’2 guard from East Meck had a strong showing last year in which he led the team in scoring at 16.0ppg and shot 41 percent from behind the arc. He only continued that strong showing this summer, as he continues to flourish in a variety of ways, consistently brings a threat to the perimeter with his outside shot-making, and has been showing to be more assertive offensively over the years.  Hicks excels in getting to his spots, whether off catch-and-shoot situations or creating for himself, comfortably knocking down shots from behind the arc or from the mid-range. But he has good athleticism and length as well to finish at the rim.  He competes well on both sides, making him a reliable 3-and-D type prospect, playing within the offense and what the team needs but also having the ability to fill it up when needed.

What Has Been Said:

“Another player that could be regarded as an under-the-radar type guy but made his presence felt on Day 2 was Hicks. Having a strong season last year, he could be in for an even bigger year this year as one of the clear leaders and shot-makers for this team. Hicks was extremely effective in rising up from multiple levels and knocking down shots, displaying good range and comfort.  He would be a solid grab for a future program and showed that today.”

“2025 Ahmari Hicks (East Meck) has next-level value between his potential Three & D profile and his low maintenance manner, patient and efficient with his shot selection and playmaking, good feel and secondary ball handling ability to optimally fill his role.”

“2025 Ahmari Hicks (East Meck) stepped up big for his team, continuing to be a consistent shot-maker for his team. Hit multiple threes to lead his team and should be in for a big season once again.”
