Phenom Hoops went out on a late Friday night to check in on another fall league, getting a chance to watch the talent that will once again be on display during the high school season. Coach Caputi will be kicking off his first season at Cuthbertson and hopes to make a big splash early on. We break down a few players we were able to get our eyes on, as Caputi will be returning a few key starters from last year.

2021 Will Heyward: Smooth, downhill guard that displays a nice touch around the rim. Whether it is floating it over defenders or finishing softly at the rim with his lay-ins, Heyward attacks off the dribble well. He does a great job in reading defenses, taking what is given, and makes the right play whether it is scoring or dishing. A tough point guard on the court but also one that understands how to put the ball in the hoop.

2021 Terrell Ray: Their tallest prospect on the court, Ray is a versatile prospect that is comfortable defending inside and out and demonstrating good activity down in the post. He moves really well, which is tough for some defenders to keep up and allows him to score around the rim. Ray also showed the ability to step out but is most effective around the paint.

2021 Tre Branham: Big frame prospect but one that moves well, finds openings on the floor, and showed the ability to hit the outside shot when needed. Does a little bit of everything on the court for his team and will be counted on for his senior leadership.

2022 Christian Alston: Another returning varsity player as a junior. He brings a tremendous motor to the floor, as he is an incredibly quick guard that is hoping to have a breakout type season. Keep an eye on him.

You may also want to keep an eye on 2022 CJ Haggarty, who could be a name to watch.  He is a prospect that is effective with his jumper, whether it is his mid-range or from three.  He also has good size that helps him defend multiple positions but also uses it on the offensive end.
