Mooresville is a program that is looking to find more success and Coach Moore is looking to change the culture. When watching the open gym, you can see that coach is looking to teach these young men and help them learn the little things that are needed to win games and be competitive. The players seem to be buying in and are excited about what is happening with this program.
Overall, this will be a team that will need everyone to help and play their role; it is going to be a total team effort all over the court when it comes to scoring, rebounding, defense, and playing the pace they want to play. Let's dive into a few players that we saw from the open gym.
The Go-To Guy: 2022 KC Shaw
Shaw was a name that started earning some traction last season, scoring the ball well and showcasing his athleticism on the court. Now, the guard looks to capitalize on a strong summer and show even more of his game. He will be the go-to leader again and a scoring threat from multiple levels, as the long guard could be in for a big year.
Other Players to Watch:
2021 Aavanth Ezhilan
One of the quicker guards that has a solid understanding and handles the ball well in initiating the offense, pushing the tempo, and seeing the floor to find his teammates. Also brings a vocal leadership on the court for this team and is an active defender.
2021 Jordan Wise-Smith
He brings the most size to the floor for this team and is a forward that is still developing his overall feel for the game. But with his length, he will have to help get on the boards and help man the paint.
2022 Paxton Broadway
Broadway can be that shooter on the court for this team. Shows a fluid shooting motion that can allow him to knock down shots from the mid-range to the three-point line
2022 Dane Stewart
Smaller guard but one that has a surprising bounce to his game. The point guard has a nice feel with the ball in his hands and should be able to give this team another ball-handler and depth for this team.
2022 Luke Kennedy wil be able to bring a defensive effort on the field. 2022 Christian Herring is another prospec that the coaches are excited about with the future, really be able to provide some critical minutes on the court. 2022 Kawarn Howell could also bring another shooter on the court.
