We got underway on the boys' side of things, with Westminster Catawba back in action and taking on Wesleyan Christian.  Both teams looking to build on their resume with a win in Charlotte and it looked to be an evenly matched game.

Westminster Catawba led the charge behind Richard Black III, scoring eight first-quarter points but Luke Grace for Wesleyan Christian stepped up big with his outside shot, eventually tying the game at 11 at the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter, MJ Collins got it going for Westminster but between Grace, Cameron Parker, and others for Wesleyan, they were able to regain the lead at halftime, leading 26-20.

Third quarter remained even for the most part, as Collins was carrying the load for his team.  It helped Westminster to cut into the lead a little late, outscoring Wesleyan 15-10 in the quarter.  Wesleyan was able to expand their lead back to double-digits early in the fourth quarter but Westminster continued to make a push and cut into the lead. As we were getting under the three-minute warning and only a five-point game, Westminster was able to cut down to one point and had a chance for the win in the final seconds but Richard Black just was a little off and Wesleyan secured the 52-51 victory.
