In our final game of the night on Day 1, Christ School and Charlotte Country Day took the floor to give fans a little bit more of a glance in what they have this season. Both teams came out and looked to run their offense with both teams trading baskets. Christ School was able to use their size and athleticism to their advantage early on in the game to gain a lead but Charlotte Country Day played with a ton of energy as well, making plays on both ends of the floor.
Second quarter, it was both teams trading blows but the scrappiness of Charlotte Country Day and their ability to attack helped them take the lead and increase it late in the second quarter. Christ School continued to attack down in the paint, keeping it close enough at the half. Anthony Robinson was a strong presence for Christ School early, while it was the guard play of Amare Bethel and company that led the charge for Charlotte Country Day. CCDS led at halftime 25-21.
The third quarter was much of the same as it was in the first half, with both teams playing scrappy basketball and really getting after it as it was a low-scoring affair. Two big shots from deep helped Christ School regain the lead late, leading 33-31 after three quarters. In the fourth quarter though, Christ School was able to take advantage offensively and also step up on the defensive end, only limiting CCDS to one point for much of the fourth quarter. It helped Christ School expand their lead to double-digits and not look back, securing the win on the road.
