Phenom Hoops was back in Charlotte for the Phenom New Year's Bash, bringing some terrific talent from around the area on both the girls' and boys' side. Now heading into the later afternoon, Salisbury had hit the road to come to Charlotte to take on Northside Christian.

Northside Christian came out strong and firing, as the guard play was able to make plays off the dribble but also had the outside shot falling.  That is what helped them jump out to an early 18-8 lead after the first quarter.  Salisbury's Juke Harris started to get going more, as well as his teammates started to find some success.  It is what helped the Hornets to chip away a little at the lead and eventually cut the game to six points by halftime, 32-26.

Salisbury continued to battle and really look to attack the paint, getting others involved and finding ways to score inside.  It is what helped turn the deficit into a tie game for much of the third quarter.  We were coming down to the wire in the fourth, with teams trading baskets, making big play after big play, and it eventually came down to the final minute of the game.  Tied at 58 with 1:30 go in the game, we were going back and forth. Salisbury had the ball last and was down one, which is when Jayden Harris came up big one more time to get inside the paint and found a way to score, eventually helping his team earn the 64-63 victory.

Final: Salisbury 64 – Northside Christian 63

Salisbury: Jayden Harris 27pts, Mike Geter 10pts, Deuce Walker 9pts
NC: Kyrell Shaw 23pts, Kenneth Shouse 14pts, Areal Jones 10pts
