#1 Concord Academy (31-6) vs. #2 Greensboro Day (29-5)

Just another division sporting the two top seeds in the 3A Division, and this will be a rematch of when we had these two teams square off at the Carmel Tip-Off. Both teams have racked up wins this year and both are looking to add another trophy to their mantle. Concord Academy is looking to go back-to-back, while Greensboro Day is hoping to give Coach Johnson another title.

These two matched up back in November, as Concord Academy was able to secure a 68-57 overtime thriller in front of a capacity crowd.  Now, these two teams have grown tremendously and they will meet again at Forsyth Country Day.

For Concord Academy, look for this team to play an up-tempo style and showcase their two terrific guards in 2024 JJ Moore and 2023 Isaiah Tate. But they will have other weapons like Noah Van Bibber, Jake Benham, Carson Cooke, and others that can step up in big ways. But Concord also has Avion Pinner and Petar Asceric around the paint, using their size and running the floor well. They can use a balanced attack and have shown they can win in several manners.

Greensboro Day has the GOAT Coach Johnson, and they will certainly look to continue to play big-time defense, play their style of play, and have 2023 Jaydon Young leading the charge. The Bengals play stingy defense, but also have players like 2024 Will Otto, 2023 Reid Carrier, 2025 Addison Newkirk, 2023 Joseph Bachman, 2023 Julius Reese, and several others that bring a balanced attack.

It will be interesting to see who is able to play their style of play in this one.
