After an entertaining day of basketball on Friday afternoon in Raleigh, we are ready to roll for Day 2 of the Phenom National Showcase at Ravenscroft high school. Game Report:

First Half

It was a close matchup in the first quarter between these two teams, as the outside game started flowing for Concord First Assembly while Liberty Heights found success attacking and finishing at the rim. Concord was able to claim a 6-point lead midway through the second quarter but Liberty Heights finished the quarter strong, claiming a 5-point lead at the half. Dominique Davis was a bull down low in the paint, finishing through contact on his way to 12 first-half points, while Kahari Rogers chipped in 8. Trae Benham led Concord First Assembly with 8 points, while Isaac Boothe and Javian Cannady both had 7.

Liberty Heights shot 52 percent from the floor and went 7-for-12 from the line, while Concord shot 39 percent from the floor, 4-for-8 from 3, and 9-for-9 from the line.

Second Half

In the second half, Concord First Assembly was able to find more of a rhythm offensively, shooting 54 percent from the floor and continuing to get to the free throw line (ended the game 18-for-20).  The outside game just wasn't there for Liberty Heights, shooting 29 percent from behind the arc.  Overall this was a battle between these two teams, trading punches left and right.  In the end though, Concord First Assembly knocked in some game-saving free throws to secure the win.
