Victory Christian and Liberty Heights bring two top teams together

We have had a chance to watch both teams on multiple settings and games and it can be easily seen that these are two of the top teams in the state with a ton of talent.  Now, these two will battle it out in Rock Hill and it should be an absolute SHOW.  Liberty Heights comes in as the top team in the state in Phenom Hoops’ latest Sweet 16 rankings, as No. 1 player in the state Jonas Aidoo gets back on the court.  But Coach Mike Wright has a ton of talent surrounding him with the likes of UCF commit PJ Edwards, 2022 Elijah Jamison, 2021 Isaac Farah, and the list could go on and on.  The target is on their back and expectations are there for Liberty Heights, but it is known that Victory Christian has their eyes on this game, a game that could prove to the state of NC even more that this team is the real deal.  VCCS has an array of talent as well on the court, just like Liberty Heights but they are looking to continue to show and play with a chip on their shoulder; with something to prove against the top teams.  Lewis Duarte, Demar Anderson, Deiman Reyes, Randi Ovalle, the Simpkins twins, and others have an opportunity to make a statement as well, just as Liberty Heights does; one is going to come away with a resume-building win. But this is a game that will be loaded with talent and potentially double-digit college-level players.

Talent all over the floor for Burlington School and Bull City National

Victory and Liberty will be a highly-anticipated matchup but right behind it sits The Burlington School and Bull City National, another matchup loaded with talent from both teams. The Burlington School has been rolling for much of the season, racking up the wins but will need to be ready for a battle with the Bull City National team, a program that has Division I talent all over the court. Led by ’22 LJ Thomas, ’21 Dre Watson, and others, Bull City has that talent to compete and win against anyone, and have shown that countless times this season.  The guard battle between LJ Thomas and Jamarii Thomas should be fun, along with two very athletic forwards in Dre Watson and Kuluel Mading.  But it also may be who else steps up in this one.  It will be a great way to end the day at the MLK Showcase.

Underrated and intriguing matchup between Northside and Moravian

Moravian Prep has been riding high this season, despite a couple of roster changes but they seem to be clicking at the right time with the group led by BJ Freeman and Raekwon Horton.  The last time we got at a chance to watch Moravian Prep, they were able to take down Combine Academy.  Now, they get Northside Christian, a team that has a great group of guards and a coach that will play anyone at any time.  They also were recently able to add one of the top freshmen in the country in 2024 Jahseem Felton, adding to the firepower from 2021 Glynn Hubbard and 2023 Wesley Tubbs.

These are just three reasons and games to watch but more will be coming as we prepare for an event in Rock Hill that you will not want to miss!
