Championship Sunday over the Memorial Day Weekend… Nothing like an exciting weekend of basketball and now ending it with two teams looking for a championship, as they head home with some hardware. Overall, the talent has been terrific but these were the teams that fared well and racked up the wins, as they battled it out to be crowned a champion.
In the 16u Red Division, Upward Stars 3SSB 2023 and Team Synergy battled it out on the Arena court for the championship. Upward came out strong led by Emanuel Richards, who was scoring all over the place whether it was from three or attacking the rim. But Synergy stayed close with Lamont'e Cousar and Evan Morton. Second half though, Synergy started to really come alive, picking it up on both ends and eventually cutting a double-digit deficit down to two late in the game. But Upward continued to answer and make big buckets at the end, ultimately securing the 69-62 victory at the end.
