THE LIST
The Players You Must Watch – Part 1
Phenom’s Low Country Showcase (January 20)
Nationally ranked players, players who have high major offers on the table, the amount of talent going head to head will be fun. As a fan of competition and basketball, it is a can’t miss type of event.
6’7” junior Josiah James
Porter Gaud School
James is ranked the #18 prospect in the country by Rivals.com. He is tied as the #1 ranked junior in the state of South Carolina. James is a lengthy and explosive point guard, a truly unique player and one who will have a long career playing basketball. His IQ is off the charts and he makes the game easy for everyone around him. James is being recruited by everyone, across the country
6’2” junior Trae Hannibal
Hartsville High School
Hannibal is still a little unknown, but that won’t last for long. He is the #5 ranked player in the state of South Carolina and 2nd ranked point guard (behind Josiah James). Fortunately for all involved, Hannibal and James will be going head to head in this matchup. Hannibal carries an Oklahoma State offer and he sits atop the recruiting boards of the likes of South Carolina, Clemson, Kansas State and others. Hannibal is a ball of explosive energy, total excitement!
5’11” junior Mikey Dukes
First Baptist of Charleston
While James is the #1 point guard in South Carolina’s junior class and Hannibal is #2, it is actually Mikey Dukes who is the #3 point guard in that class. Dukes is also the 7th ranked player overall in the class. Dukes is also a highly ranked running back with numerous Power 5 offers. Dukes heart lies in basketball, and he is so good. His toughness exudes on both ends, he is a rugged defender and a complete offensive thread.
6’3” senior Marque Maultsby
Garner (NC)
What an unbelievably exciting batch of point guards in this event. Maultsby is a terror on the ball defender, widely thought of as the best on the ball defender in North Carolina. He has long arms and is incredibly quick twitch and explosive. Maultsby was offered a walk-on position at UNC last week and has had numerous mid major schools start the process with him. He is a winner and a leader and also a 1200 SAT student. Expect more offers to come.
