First Half
The final game was upon us in Charleston, as the home team Porter-Gaud welcomed in Whale Branch for a battle of two South Carolina teams. Porter-Gaud showed how they are a grind-it-out, scrappy team as they wanted to push the tempo when they could. Whale Branch struggled with turnovers, which allowed Porter-Gaud to get some easy buckets in transition. Whale Branch never seemed to get in sync, allowing Porter to get an early double-digit lead at halftime.
Second Half
Porter continued to push the tempo, find open shots, and get after it on the defensive end, pushing the lead to 20+ points midway through the third quarter. Once they were up, Porter-Gaud continued to hold their double-digit lead despite Whale Branch cutting it in half late in the fourth quarter. Ending an exciting day in Charleston, the home school of Porter-Gaud protected their court at the Phenom Low Country Showcase.
