Game 3 got the boy’s side going on Day 2 of the Phenom Lakesgiving, with Winston Salem Regional and Covenant Day went to battle.' Covenant Day was looking to bounce back from Day 1 and they came out strong, knocking down shots from outside and being more active on both sides.' It helped them gain the early edge to start the game but Winston Salam Regional started to get things going, which ultimately helped them earn the narrow 17-15 first-quarter lead. The battle continued throughout the second quarter with Winston Salem Regional continuing to hold the narrow edge. Caden Fitzgibbons led the charge for WS Christian, while Elijah Green led the way for Covenant Day. With a big shot from Darnerian Gibson, it helped give WS a 37-31 lead at halftime.
The second half was much like the first half, just an absolute battle between these two teams. Winston Salem Christian was able to maintain its lead throughout the third and into the fourth, but Covenant Day was right there and playing strong.' Winston Salem though had one more run in them to help expand their lead and ultimately seal the win from the free-throw line.
