The day continued into the afternoon as the girls were back in action in what looked to be a great game with some terrific talent. Lake Norman Girls matched up with Ardrey Kell Girls at the PhenomLakesgiving, and Lake Norman showed why they are one of the top teams around the region and even in the state. They were swarming on defense early which allowed them to create turnovers and turn them into points, eventually going up by double-digits quickly at the end of the first quarter.
They didn’t let off the gas though after that, as they continued to build their lead in the second quarter. Ardrey Kell did what they could to get their offense going with players like Molly Burns and Autumn Washington making plays, but Lake Norman was just too much and their defensive pressure created a ton of havoc. It allowed them to jump out to a 46-10 halftime lead and they simply never looked back in the second half. As the final buzzer went off, it was Lake Norman that secured the 73-26 win.
