This is a matchup that should have the attention of many… Greensboro Day, led by head coach Freddy Johnson, looks to be loaded with depth and can come at you in waves, as they have a tremendous blend of young talent and experience. But they still have to come all together, as plenty of new names like Ace Flagg and company are looking to join in and bring a cohesive team to the court. The Bengals will be looked at early as a team that has a chance to win another championship, but they will also have to show that they can get it done both offensively and defensively.
Berean Baptist could be looked at the same way; this is a team loaded with talent but they have to put it all together. 2026 Josiah Sanders returns from last year and has clearly elevated his game, as high-major programs continue to make him a target. He will lead the way, and the new roster may allow him to play more of his natural positions. But they also will have players like 2026 Justin Caldwell who is an absolute monster down in the paint, along with 2026 Jossiah Johnson who can also get to his spots. This is a team that has plenty of weapons, but this is a program that has to find ways to win.
This is a battle that will EASILY test each team and show more of what they have heading into the season, as well as bring some of the top players in the state to one court.
