Day 2 of the Phenom HoopState Championship continued in Rock Hill, as our first game got underway between Winston-Salem Christian and Word of God. Two teams loaded with talent and certainly had pride on the line, not wanting to go 0-2 early in South Carolina. Word of God came out strong but WS Christian battled right back, as it ended 20-20 after one.  Gerasim Bordin shot the ball really well from outside for WS Christian, scoring 11 first-half points, while it was a blend of Saiquone Harris early on, and Khalil Marshall carrying the load in the first half for Word of God.  Word of God was able to create some space in the second, outscoring WS 18-11.

With Word of God holding the lead, they were able to continue to build and put pressure on WS Christian.' Jai Smith really started to put the pressure on in the second half, scoring 13 of his 17 points while BJ Keith has a balanced game as well.' Word of God held another 17-11 third-quarter advantage to really help seal this one in the bag, as it was a back-and-forth contest in the fourth, with Word of God ultimately winning 75-64.
