Game 2 on Day 2, the Rams of Word of God matched up with NC Good Better Best, as each team was looking to make their way into the semifinals. Word of God came out with the early punch, knocking down shots and showcasing their strong guard play early to get the early lead. But NC GBB started to settle down and shots eventually started to fall as well. Word of God held the 21-13 first-quarter lead. It remained that way much of the second quarter as well; Word of God was able to continue to score the ball effectively behind Isaiah Coleman but NC GBB stayed right there within striking distance. Word of God led 36-27 at halftime.

Second half, it continued to be an absolute battle.  Both teams played well and attacked the basket, as Word of God was looking to put NC GBB away but they never could, as NC GBB found themselves down 55-48 at the end of the third.  But come the fourth, the energy level picked up on both ends for Word of God; they were able to create more havoc defensively, force tough shots, and get out in transition. It is what helped them create a double-digit cushion halfway through the fourth and simply never look back to secure the win and advance.

Final: Word of God 77 – NC GBB 66

WOG: Isaiah Coleman 33, Mekhi Grant 10, Antonio Hurns 7
NCGBB: Jajuan Nicholls 24, Caden Bell 19, Jalik Nicholls 8

Standouts:

2023 Isaiah Coleman (Word of God): Coleman absolutely stole the show in this one, as he couldn't be stopped on the floor. Coleman did what he wanted when he wanted. The senior 6'6 prospect was terrific in making plays off the bounce, getting paint touches, and finishing with touch, while also staying active defensively. Coleman can really be used in a variety of ways and shows he can score from all levels on the court, as he had a monster game.

2023 Caden Bell (NC GBB): It was one of his best games that I saw with NC GBB; the point guard remained aggressive throughout and did a great job in creating off the dribble to make plays, attacking the basket, and finding ways to finish off the dribble.

2023 Jajuan Nicholls (NC GBB): Nicholls is another unsigned senior that a program could use. Love his size, his strength and power, and he has a unique feel for a forward at his size. Loved his toughness and feel in the paint, but also showed flashes of his ability to step out. Makes his impact felt in ways and is strong on the boards.
