Khamari has a chance to be an impact varsity player as early as this season and has an exciting upside! He is gifted athletically, has a great basketball frame highlighted by a monstrous wingspan, a good combination of speed and strength and he competes with great energy on both ends of the floor. Khamari is a very good shooter, his release and form are smooth and mechanically sound. He has a fairly quick release and a soft touch, releases the ball at its highest point. He plays with confidence, makes good decisions and is capable of making shots from all levels particularly efficient in the mid-range. He stays on balance and is a good scorer on the move. Khamari doesn't shy away from taking big shots and demonstrates terrific scoring instincts and confidence.
He is capable of hitting shots off screens, in catch and shoot and also stepping into his shot of the dribble. He has excellent body control when shooting jumpers or when driving to the rim where he is a strong finisher. Khamari takes good shots, shows patience with the ball in his hands and makes very good decisions. He is a crafty and instinctual playmaker who can distribute to his teammates. Although a very good scorer, Khamari is willing to make the extra pass around the perimeter or use his dribble to create opportunities for teammates. He is a very unselfish player and wants to get his teammates involved. He possesses good ball skills as a shot creator and a facilitator and has a degree of explosiveness thanks in large part to his rangy strides and use of change of pace activity.
Khamari uses a very good crossover dribble move and has the ability to turn the corner using his length, upper body strength, and speed to get to the rim. He attacks the rim fearlessly using his strong frame which allows him to fight through contact and finish. Khamari is crafty and comfortable attacking closeouts. He uses screens well to drive the ball and doesn't turn the ball over. He is an energy giver and is very active defensively. Khamari does a great job containing players on the perimeter by using very good lateral movement and his long wingspan. He's a smart defender, plays with maximum effort and puts pressure on the ball. He is rarely out of position on defense and displays very good anticipation and awareness off the ball. Khamari uses his hands well to come up with steals and disrupts shots. Exhibits good closeout speed, goes after rebounds and loose balls and is a very good rebounder thanks to his effort. His strength and solid footwork defensively allow him to play both physical and quick and he brings great toughness on the defensive end.
Khamari demonstrates a great deal of versatility offensively, good skills! Thanks to his physical tools and toughness he is also able to be employed in various roles defensively and his nonstop motor allows him to be disruptive on the defensive end. Khamari's athleticism and physical makeup really attract your attention as you watch him take the floor but when you see his advanced grasp of skills and competitiveness you can't help but be excited as to what his future might hold. He is certainly one to get familiar with right now!
